RAJOURI, Sept 14: Taking a strong note of the ignorance on the part of State Government in providing relief and rescue to the people of Rajouri and Poonch districts who were severely affected in this devastating flood situation which has created havoc across the Jammu and Kashmir, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rajouri district unit criticized the State Government for adopting discriminatory attitude towards these districts in this hour of need.
The district unit under the leadership of BJP State Vice President Advocate Vibodh Gupta and District President Bharat Bhushan Vaid conducted tour of different villages and areas which were badly affected due to the recent rains and floods across the Rajouri district.
While addressing a press conference, Vibodh said that in absence of communication system and due to tough terrain some areas are still inaccessible for administration and media where nature has shown its cruel face more when compared with other parts of the State.
He said that that ex-gratia relief should be given to the people on priority for construction of their houses and for losses to their crops and animals. He also demanded Government service for the next kith and kin of those who were killed in different accidents under the provisions of SRO 43.
BJP leader Rajinder Mehta also spoke on the occasion.
