JAMMU, Dec 11: BJP senior leader and MP from Mathura, Hema Malini has reiterated the commitment of her Party to settle the problems of refugees in the State.
Addressing two mammoth election rallies at Rehari in Jammu West Assembly Segment of Jammu district and Sunderbani in Nowshera Assembly Segment of Rajouri district today, she allayed the fears that BJP Government at Centre has rejected the proposal regarding refugees package submitted by State Government and added that it was BJP which has always championed the cause of both PoJK and West Pak refugees.
Lashing out at those who are misleading refugees in this regard, Hema Malini said that those who failed to give justice to both PoJK refugees and West Pak refugees in last 65 years of their rule were again misleading them by making false promises. “If any political party is determined to settle the refugees issue it is BJP”, she added.
Strongly condemning the attack on BJP candidate of Nowshera, Ravinder Raina recently, she said the Constituency be declared as sensitive and elaborate security arrangements be made for polling as her Party apprehends some foul play by opponents who have become unnerved with growing popularity of BJP.
She demanded that adequate security forces be deployed in the Constituency during polling day to conduct free and fair elections.
Maintaining that the development of J&K is the main poll plank of BJP, she said if voted to power her Party will make J&K a tourist hub and people will forget even Switzerland as we will develop all tourist spots of the State.
She accused the successive Governments of ignoring the J&K in developmental field despite the fact that it has a lot of potential in tourism sector.
Appealing people to vote for Mr Raina, she termed him an honest and dedicated Party activist who has given his entire youth in the service of nation. “The need of hour is to get such honest men elected so that the public life is freed from corrupt elements”, she added.
She said Nowshera Constituency sans basic facilities as the condition of roads is worst while people are facing acute scarcity of drinking water and power crisis also.
Addressing the rally Ravinder Raina assured the people that he will strive hard in settling their problems and get special schemes under the Border Area Development Programme (BADP) for the welfare of the people of this Constituency.
He said he will raise their issues in Assembly and seek funds for the development of roads besides setting up other developmental projects.
At Rehari Hema Malini also expressed concern over the traffic congestion in Jammu city and said it is pity that the coalition Government has failed to widen roads or construct more flyovers to lessen the traffic congestion.
She, while highlighting the policies and programmes of Modi Government said that under BJP rule J&K will progress leaps and bounds and emerge as one of the model States of the country.
She said there is Modi wave in entire country and it will sweep J&K also by routing the opponents like it did to Congress in Lok Sabha elections. She appealed the people to vote for Sat Sharma in Jammu West and Rajesh Gupta for Jammu East by giving a massive mandate to BJP to form the next Government in the State.
BJP candidate from Jammu West Sat Sharma also addressed the rally.
