BJP betrayed legacy of Shyama Prasad Mookerjee: Harsh Dev

Excelsior Correspondent

JAMMU, July 19: Eulogizing the supreme sacrifices made by Dr Shyama Prasad Mookerjee for the unity and integrity of the nation,  NPP chairman  and former minister Harsh Dev Singh  today appealed to  Dr Mohan Bhagwat and other top brass of RSS currently in Jammu for national meet (Rashtriya Sammelan) to address the issues and concerns of the nationalist people of the State who were feeling marginalized and suffocated under the sinister opportunist BJP-PDP alliance working for their own loaves and fishes.
In a communiqué to Dr Mohan Bhagwat, top NPP leader said that J&K BJP had disowned the principles for which Dr Mookerjee stood all his life and have jettisoned his ideology throwing all their solemn election time pledges, of promoting his agenda to the winds after their ascendance to power in their desperation to keep their opportunist alliance with PDP intact.
Rebuking the J&K BJP leaders for betraying the legacy of Dr Mukherjee, Harsh Dev said that they have done the greatest  dis-service to the legendary leader by drawing political capital out of his sacrifice and dis-regarding his slogans after their ascendance to power.  He said that the BJP leaders used the name of Dr Mookerjee and his ideology for garnering votes in the elections but once in power abandoned his ideology and principles. He said that BJP had not only endorsed the separate constitution of J&K but had most contemptuously discarded the demand for abrogation of Article 370 which had been its most coveted demand during the last seven decades.
He said that several other overtures  of BJP in J&K included abandoning Sainik Colony project in Kashmir, shelving of separate KP Township project in Kashmir on the dictates of separatists, re-naming of  Hari Parbat as Kohi-e-Maran, Bahu-Fort as Shahbad,  refusal to grant Dogra certificate,  provision of huge security to separatists and anti-nationals, compensation to NOKs of stone pelters and militants, refusal to grant ex-gratia to soldiers martyred, refusal to evict Rohingyas and Bangladeshis illegally settled in Jammu.
