UJJAIN (MADHYA PRADESH), Nov 9: Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said here today that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to beat its own record in Madhya Pradesh by winning 200 plus seats in the ensuing elections, thus surpassing its past tally of 131 seats in 2008 elections and 165 seats in 2014 elections, respectively.
Addressing a mammoth public rally in support of the BJP candidate from South Ujjain, Mohan Yadav, here today, Dr Jitendra Singh said, along with Narendra Modi in Gujarat, Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Madhya Pradesh had pioneered the campaign for “Congress Mukt Bharat” which inspired the BJP Karyakartas across the country and, as a result of which, today, there is a BJP government in 15 States and a BJP coalition in another three States of India.
Not only this, Dr Jitendra Singh said, the “Congress Mukt Bharat” campaign, originating from Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, has also found its echo in the unlikely domains of Kashmir Valley, where a BJP-supported candidate has been elected the Mayor of Srinagar and some of those Corporators who were affiliated with the Congress Party, also chose to lend their support to him.
It goes to the credit of the BJP-led governments in Madhya Pradesh, said Dr Jitendra Singh, that the State was pulled out from the dubious distinction of being described “BIMARU” State to that of a “developing” State and now a “developed” State, with a network of roads, 24×7 power supply and highest agricultural growth rate, which is an example in itself.
The electoral prospects in Ujjain and the rest of the State, said Dr Jitendra Singh, are so heavily tilted in favour of BJP that the Congress Party campaigners also realize this in heart of hearts and are even unable to find candidates to contest against BJP.
BJP local MP Dr Chintamani Malviya, Ujjain BJP District President Vivek Joshi and the contesting candidate Mohan Yadav also spoke on the occasion.
