JAMMU, Dec 21: Appreciable decision taken by Central Government of declaring martyrdom day of Sahibzadas of Shri Guru Govind Singh Ji as Bal Diwas is huge stride towards honoring and remembrance of two sons of Shri Guru Govind Singh Ji who sacrificed their lives rather than surrendering before tyrants.
Day falls on December 26 when Sahibzadas Zorawar Singh Ji and Fateh Singh Ji were martyred by sealing them in wall.
Chief spokesperson of Jammu and Kashmir, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sunil Sethi called upon educational institutions particularly in private sector to hold discussions, seminars and tributes to pay homage to Bal martyrs who preferred to lay down their lives than succumbing to dictate of Nawab Khan to convert to Islam. The option before children of great Guru was to convert or to die. They chose later smilingly, he added.
He said that in the martyrdom the Sahibzadas have taught greatest lesson to whole humanity of remaining steadfast in resolve and beliefs and not to be afraid of oppressors. It’s their shining example of extreme sacrifice which lays foundation of Indian society. Though less in age, they were high in commitment and belief in God. The whole nation is indebted to Supreme Sacrifice.
Sunil Sethi called upon education Institutions as also NGOs to help in inculcating the high morale values in the children by following example of Sahibzadas to make country and religions proud. The tribute paid by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi to Sahibzadas and their supreme sacrifice is reflective of mood of whole nation. Veer Bal Diwas is singularly most important event in the making of New India.
