BJP apprises pregnant women about welfare schemes

JAMMU, May 9: Bharatiya Janata Party  Mahila Morcha (BJPMM )Jammu district president Rekha Mahajan, along with its team visited Gynaecology OPD of Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, and took stock of various welfare schemes launched by Government of India, especially for pregnant women.
State secretary Neeru Anand, district general secretary Savita Anand, secretary Pooja Chouhan, Raksha Jerath,Vandana Tehran, Surekha and other Morcha activists were also present there.
Rekha Mahajan, on this occasion said that every pregnancy is special and every pregnant women must receive special care and with the objective to provide quality Ante Natal Care (ANC) to every pregnant women, especially the poor women in our society, the Government of India under PM Narendra Modi  has launched Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritav Abhiyan (PMSMA). Various tests including blood pressure, sugar level, weight, haemoglobin  test ,blood test etc will be given free on 9th of every month. This scheme is applicable only to the women in their pregnancy period of 3 to 6 months, she added.
She also made them aware about the financial aid of Rs 6000 given to pregnant women for their hospital admission, vaccination and nutritional food. This money will be directly transferred to pregnant women in their accounts and this will help a lot in bringing down maternal mortality rate, Rekha told them.
Morcha team interacted with the pregnant women who had come there for their health check up. They also interacted with the doctors and paramedical staff on duty. They stressed upon the hospital administration that the various schemes launched for the pregnant women should be implemented properly.
