BJP appeals people to support Bharat Bandh tomorrow

JAMMU, Sept 18: State BJP today appealed to the public to make Bharat Bandh, called given by Opposition NDA on September 20  in protest against the Centre’s recent decisions on hike in diesel prices,  cooking gas and entry of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) a success.
The appeal was made by BJP State president Shamsher Singh Manhas while talking to reporters here along with  BJP State spokesperson and national executive member Dr Jitendra Singh and district president of the Party Rajesh Gupta.
“We appeal to all the traders, transporters and public to make bandh successful on September 20 to protest against the hike of diesel and new policy of LPG and permitting the foreign companies to open retail shops in the country under FDI” BJP state president, Shamsher Singh Manhas, said.
NDA has called the bandh against the recent steep hike in the prices of diesel, the cap on cooking gas and opening up the retail sector to foreign companies under FDI, he said.
The Congress-led UPA Government has been taking one decision after the other which has hit people across the country, making their lives “miserable,” he claimed.
The Bharat Bandh will deliver a “clear message” to the Union Government that the people of the country cannot be taken for granted any more, he said, while asking other political parties to also register their protest on the day.
Manhas said BJP being a responsible opposition ahs always stood for the cause of masses and opposed all such decisions of the Government which are aimed at enriching a handful of people at the expense of common Indian and reducing him to penny.
He also appealed to all other political parties and their activists to come on the streets on September 20 to register their protest and disapproval of the anti-people actions of the Congress led UPA Government.
