BJP activists protest, march towards LoC

RAJOURI, Jan 13: Activists of BJP today held strong protest demonstration in Rajouri and near LoC in Bhimber Gali area of Mendhar sector against Pakistan while anti- Pak protests were also held near the International Border in Kathua at two places.
A large number of BJP workers under the leadership of senior party leaders, Kuldeep Raj Gupta, Bharat Bhushan Vaid, Vibodh Gupta and Yogesh Sharma assembled at tehsil complex Rajouri town at around 10.30 am today and then took out a protest march towards Bus Stand. They were carrying Indian flags and raising anti-Pak slogans. They expressed their strong resentment against the beheading of two Indian soldiers by Pak troops in Mendhar area near LoC and heavy firing and ceasefire violation from that side.
Then nearly 300 party workers including Beopar Mandal members and others boarded buses and some light motor vehicles and started moving towards Balakote in Mendhar sector to hold protest on the LoC. Near Manjakote, the police tried to stop these protesters but they managed to travel ahead. Near Bhimber Gali, when they tried to move towards LoC fencing in Balakote area, the Army authorities did not open the gates and stopped them.
They started anti-Pak protest at this point and raised pro- Indian forces slogans. The protesters were waving Indian flags and shouting slogans against Pakistani forces and Pak President. Several senior leaders also addressed the gathering and demanded direct action against Pakistan. They said that such tactics of Pakistan will not be allowed. They said that entire country was behind Indian forces and will not allow to let them down in any situation. Senior officers then asked the protesters to go back as it was not safe to move ahead. The people then returned from BG after staging protest.
Meanwhile, people from border belt of Kathua held another protest demonstration against Pakistan near Bobiya Border (IB) in Mareen area of Hiranagar tehsil. They burnt the effigy of Pakistan Army. The people raised anti-Pak slogans and demanded revenge of the beheading the two Indian soldiers in Mendhar area recently. They were however, not allowed to move closer to the IB by the BSF jawans guarding border.
Yet another similar protest was held at Chadwal Morh against Pakistan by the locals of the area. They also raised anti- Pak slogans and demanded retaliatory action against Pak forces.
Youth Congress activists supported by locals also held protest near IB in Arnia area of Bishnah tehsil today. The PYC activists led by State president Shah Nawaz Choudhary assembled near the IB and shouted slogans against Pakistan. He was accompanied by Charan Jeet Singh, Satinder Kumar, Ajaz Choudhary and others.
