SRINAGAR, Apr 25: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate for Srinagar Lok Sabha seat, Fayaz Ahmad Bhat today said that National Conference (NC) is using drug and wine operators of the State as mobile voters.
Bhat said NC has given 3700 drug and wine licenses to its drug mafia cadres during last five-years of its rule in the state to achieve their vested interest, who are responsible for all the ailments in state.
“The drug mafia has NC-led Government patronage here which has consumed a major youth population,” he said while addressing a rally here.
He claimed people of Srinagar have decided this time to vote for BJP to eradicate wine and drug lobby forever which was responsible for all ailments in the society.
Accusing NC-Congress leaders of spreading hatred against BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, Bhat said these party leaders fear that Modi would expose their role in drug mafia in the State.
Bhat added: “NC’s fear against Modi is because Modi will impose blanket ban on these anti-social and immoral activities and withdraw their licenses which he has done in Gujarat as he is totally against drugs and wine which has spoiled our youth.”
Expressing surprise on the statements of NC top leaders to lure voters, Bhat said on one hand Farooq Abdullah was advocating dropping of bombs on Pakistan and on the other hand the NC’s Member Parliament G N Ratanpuri was advocating referendum.
He said late Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah has already bargained referendum for achieving power in 1975 in most undemocratic manner when he was made CM without any election for two years and this was gross violation of Article 370 as well as other provisions of the constitution of India.
