BJCC expresses concern over Govt neglecting Baramulla

SRINAGAR, Feb 20:  Baramulla Joint Coordination Committee (BJCC) in a meeting held today expressed concern over Baramulla being neglected on developmental front.
Speaking on various public issues of Baramulla district, Patron Bar Association Ghulam Mohi-ud Din Wani said that, Baramulla is politically paralyzed and that is why no attention is being given on its development.
“We will fight ‘tooth and nail’ with every individual who will go against the development of Baramulla district,” he said.
Citing historical importance of Baramulla district, he said that Baramulla is the oldest district of north Kashmir that comprised of Bandipora, Kupwara, Budgam, and Ganderbal and with the passage of time, the district was divided in various parts.
“By dividing the district, people at the helm of affairs consider that development has taken place but development means to add something new where people will be benefitted at large,” he said.
President Bar Association, Abdul Salaam Rather said the need of the hour is to take a strong initiative to restore the glory of the district.
“This district is far from the developments as recently the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti said in a tweet that, Passport Kendra was inaugurated in Baramulla, but unfortunate part of the story is that, the Superintendent of Post Baramulla said that they have no space for passport Kendra,” he said.
“I would like to tell the Superintendent of Post, Baramulla division that, without knowing the facts he shouldn’t mislead the Government, as we have enough space for passport office and other sectors also,” he added.
Mohammad Ashraf Ganie, President Baramulla Traders Federation said that, they have a mandate of people and for their welfare they will not leave any stone unturned in its development.
The meeting was attended by senior advocate and patron Baramulla Bar Association, Ghulam Mohi-ud Din Wani, senior advocate and President Bar Association Baramulla, Abdul Salaam Rather, Adv and social activist, Irfan Hafeez Lone, President Traders Federation Baramulla, Mohammad Ashraf Ganie, Gen Secretary Traders Federation, Eng Tariq Mughloo, Chairman BWJA, Haji Karamat Qayoom, President BWJA Zargar Gulzar, Vice president Anzher Muhjoo, Gen Sec BWJA, Tahir-ul Haq, Chief Spokesperson BWJA, Reyaz Rashid and other senior journalists and other members from the civil societies were also present on this occasion.
