Bimla seeks facilities for shelling hit people

JAMMU, May 25: National Conference leader and former MLA Bimla Luthra today visited shelling affected areas in Ramgarh sector and expressed solidarity with the sufferers, who lost their dear ones in the unprovoked shelling from across the border.
She conveyed her condolences to the bereaved families and wished immediate recovery to the injured. During interaction with the sufferers at Chandu Chak and Tareva in RS Pura, besides Suchetgarh and Arnia, Bimla Luthra expressed anguish over delay in constructing shelter sheds and making appropriate lodging arrangements for the displaced people during the exigencies.
She said the border dwellers are forced to run helter skelter for safety with the Government just looking to the other side, when they need shelter, medicare and other facilities the most. Luthra urged the administration to provide ex-gratia to the next of kin of those killed, carry out survey of the damages caused due to shelling and provide interim relief in terms of cash assistance and free rations to the sufferers. She said the affected people should be compensated for the losses after inventory of the damages is prepared.
