JAMMU, Jan 3: Chairman, Health & Sanitation Committee, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Baldev Singh Billawaria today kick started developmental works worth Rs 2 crore in ward number 58, Gangyal.
The work involves construction of drain in sector 2 extension which will be done by UEED at a cost of about Rs 1.50 crore and construction of some lanes and drains at a cost of about Rs 50 lakh which will be done by Municipal Corporation Jammu.
Billawaria said that ward 58 is the first such ward in the city to have taken the initiative in segregation of garbage and soon this ward will be the best ward in the city in terms of cleanliness as it has already been done dustbin free. He said that many other development projects have been mooted for the ward which will be started in the coming few days. He appealed the people to cooperate with the Corporation in maintaining cleanliness with the development to make the ward 58 the most modern and clean ward.
He asked the people to avoid the propaganda by the opposition parties about the CAA (Citizenship Amendment Act) and get the right information on the CAA from the BJP workers. He said that it is being said about the CAA that it is anti-Muslim while it is not hostile to anyone but gives persecuted minorities in foreign countries citizenship in India on the basis of religion. It does not pose any threat to citizenship of any kind, he added.
