JAMMU, Nov 12: Providing best infrastructure facilities to the residents of RS-Jammu South Assembly constituency at their doorstep, Deputy Mayor, Baldev Singh Billawaria kick started the black topping on the road in Ward 73 Gadigarh area near here, today.
Deputy Mayor was accompanied by Health and Sanitation Chairman, Rajkumar Tarkhan and officials of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC). This construction work is being done under the supervision of Jammu Municipal Corporation at a cost of about one and a half crore.
On the occasion, Billawaria highlighted the major works taken up in the RS-Jammu South Assembly constituency in the past years. He said that construction of the road was a long pending demand of the residents of the area and that demand has been fulfilled.
Baldev Singh Billawaria said that it is a matter of shame for those who ruled the State for many years after independence as no development has been carried out. He said that these areas adjoining the city are still undeveloped and one can imagine the fate of other far off areas. He said that the claims of the previous regimes of carrying out all round development were slogans to lure the voters.
He said “Development is the mantra of the Modi Government and we are committed to get every development done in RS-Jammu South Assembly constituency’’. He said that he would work day and night to make RS Pura-Jammu South Assembly a Model Assembly. Deputy Mayor said that several work on other projects in the area would be started soon and would be completed in a time-bound manner.
Praising the efforts of local councillor Prof Yudhveer Singh, he said that he is making best efforts to make his Ward a Modern Ward. The people in general and social workers complimented Deputy Mayor, for starting the development works in the area.
Mandal president BJP, Vijay Sharma, Girdhari Lal, Pitamber Sharma, Inderjit Khajuria, Pappi Kumar, Sanchit Raina, Madan Katal and others were also present.
