JAMMU, Oct 17: Continuing the drive to provide better development as well as basic facilities to the people of Gandhi Nagar area, BJP senior leader, Baldev Singh Billawaria inaugurated newly constructed lanes and drains at Preet Nagar area of Ward No. 45 in Gandhi Nagar constituency today.
Speaking on the occasion, Billawaria said that it was indeed a long pending demand of the locals and the same has been met. He said that a deputation from the area approached him with the demand around a month ago and he immediately directed the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and a lane and drain at the cost of Rs 5 lakh has been constructed. He requested the public to keep the lane and drain neat and clean as it is their property now. He said that it is the responsibility of the locals of the area to see that public property is not damaged by anyone.
He said that after the demise of senior BJP leader and local Councilor, Raj Rani, the pace of development work in the Ward had slowed down which is being given speed once again. “The BJP is committed to fulfill the resolution taken by Councillor Raj Rani to make Ward 45 a modern Ward,” he said and assured that many other projects in the area would start soon and would be completed in a time bound manner.
The locals expressed their gratitude to Billawaria for taking up this work on priority. Sat Pal Chaudhary, Puran Chand, Vinod Sharma, Magar Singh, Varinder Gupta, Ranjit Singh, Sunil Sharma,Tilak Raj, Des Raj, Pawan Kumar were present on the occasion.
