JAMMU, May 9: BJP leader and former Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), Chairman, Baldev Singh Billawaria today said that the dreaded Corona Virus has put an added responsibility on Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and its workers and it is their responsibility to keep the entire city neat and clean.
Talking to reporters here, today he said the Corona has put an additional task on JMC and its workers as they have to sanitize the affected areas and lift garbage from there. He said that the workload on the sanitation workers including the officers of the JMC has increased manifold while the risk of Corona virus has also doubled.
He said the Municipal workers in this period of epidemic are putting their lives to risk and are even more important than front line COVID workers for whose safety and security all steps be taken by Government who clean cremation grounds, hospitals where the patients are admitted besides the localities where from these cases are reported.
