RAJOURI, Nov 10: One person was killed while another seriously injured when their bike (No. JK02CL/1300) was hit by a bus while over taking on Jammu-Rajouri highway in Nowshera sector this afternoon.
Official sources said that the mishap took place near Bagnoti village. The bike rider tried to over take two speeding buses. Both biker and pillion rider, were caught within two buses and thrown away with the push of one of them. Both the injured were rushed to SDH Nowshera where one of them namely Ranjeet Singh (47), son of Mohan Singh, resident of Kanha Chak in Jammu district succumbed to injuries. His associate, Ravinder Singh, resident of Kanha Chak was referred to GMC Jammu from SDH Nowshera with multiple injuries.
The police seized both the buses bearing registration No. JK02BM/ 2789 and JK02AQ/ 2071 and registered a case for investigation. Drivers of both the buses were also detained.
