Bike lifter held, seven bikes recovered

JAMMU, Aug 29: Police here in Rehari area claimed today that they have arrested a bike lifter and recovered 7 two-wheelers from his possession.
A police spokesperson said that one Parminder Singh son of Bhagat Singh of Bishnah, Jammu, lodged a written complaint with Police Post Rehari today, stating therein that his motorcycle was stolen from outside the Vivekananda Hospital, Amphalla, Jammu.
On receipt of the complaint, a case FIR number 108/2023 under section 379 was registered at Police Post Rehari and investigation started, he said.
Probing the case, he said, a team of Police Post Rehari led by SHO Pacca Danga, Inspector Sushil Sharma assisted by incharge Police Post Rehari, PSI Anil Kumar rounded up a suspect identified as Narinder Gupta of Wazharat Road, Jammu, with the help of technology and human intelligence.
During questioning, the accused confessed to his involvement in the crime, the police spokesperson said, adding that the accused was already a notorious thief as 6 cases were already registered against him at different police stations.
On the disclosure of the accused, the stolen motorcycle along with 6 other two-wheelers, including a Royal Enfield was recovered, he said.
Further investigation in the case is underway.
Pertinently, the entire operation was conducted under the supervision of SDPO North, Sunil Kesar, and overall supervision of SP City North, Kulbir Chand Handa.
