5 drug peddlers held with heroin, charas

RAJOURI, Aug 29: The police arrested five drug peddlers and recovered heroin and charas from their possession.
Official sources said that four narcotic peddlers were arrested in Rajouri today with consignment of heroine.
It said a team of police headed by Deputy SP Headquarters, Mudassir Hussain alongwith SHO Rajouri Aejaz Ahmed Wani and PSI Sahil Bhagat, alongwith a team of Army and CRPF during naka at Abdullah bridge intercepted three persons on their suspicious movement.
They were put to frisking and 7.5 gms of heroin was recovered from Mohd Ishitiaq alias Chotu Malik, son of Mohd Zafar Malik, resident of Malik Market Rajouri, 6 grams of heroin from Wasim Choudhary, son of Mohd Rafiq, resident of Katarmal, Rajouri whereas, 3.5 grams of heroin from Mohd Arif, son of Mohd Raqib, resident of ward 4, DC Colony, Rajouri.
A case FIR No. 414/23 under Sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered against them.
In another action, police said, Rajesh Kumar, son of Sukhdev Singh, resident of Rathal Chowdhury Nar was intercepted at Rathal by team of police over his suspicious movement with 6 grams of heroin. He has been booked in case FIR 415/23 U/Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act.
Meanwhile, police in Thannamandi arrested a drug peddler namely Imran Ahmed, son of Mohd Farooq Dar, resident of Potha, Rajdhani and recovered 13.5 grams of charas from him. The arrest was made by police team headed by SHO Thannamandi, Hilal Azhar under the supervision of SDPO Thanamandi Dr Imtiaz Ahmed.
A case FIR No. 125/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered against the accused.
