JAMMU, Mar 2: Rotary Club Jammu Tawi and 92.7 Big FM are organizing ‘Big Street’ at Apsra Road on March 6 from 7 am to 2 pm.
This was stated by Rtn Ashok Gupta, President Rotary Club Jammu Tawi while interacting with media persons this afternoon.
He added that the concept of ‘Big Street’ is to give pollution free atmosphere to city of temples.
“The roads are for pedestrians in the present lifestyle. We have forgotten to walk altogether. Due to lack of walking or cycling, we have become total dependent on automobiles, which has adversely impacted on health of society in the shape of health hazard caused by the pollution (smoke) emitting out from vehicles”, Gupta maintained.
He informed that ‘Big Street’ is all about opening street to people, sharing resources and transforming communities. It will be a milestone crafted to galvanize the citizens to participate in a shared vision of an active, vehicle free lifestyle, he added.
Gupta further said that Big FM RJ’s will host the event in which various activities like Yoga, Zumba Dance, Tug-of-War, Cycling, Street Football, Skating, Selfie Corner, singing, dancing, food stalls and street play by Rangyug will be the part of the event.
He stated that Rotary Club Jammu Tawi and 92.7 BIG FM are launching this ‘Big Street’ and is going to be a regular activity for the people of Jammu in coming weeks also.
The project is being organized by Dr Dushyant Choudhary, Vikrant Sharma, Programming Head 92.7 Big FM, Harish Gulati, PS Jaggi, BR Chandan, Jatinder Gandhok, Sunil Jain, Jaswant Rai, Subash Gandhotra and Pradeep Jain.
