Bid to sell Govt ration in open market foiled, one held

SAMBA, Dec 7: Ramgarh Police foiled a bid to sell Government ration in the open market and arrested a man, a police spokesman said.
“35 bags of flour and 6 bags of wheat, each weighing 50 kgs, were seized from a truck”, the spokesman added.
The truck was intercepted in Ramloo Rasolian area after police received information about black marketing of Government supplied ration, he said, adding that the vehicle’s driver identified as Ashwani Kumar, son of Prithvi Raj of Ranjitpura, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu has been arrested.
The bags were loaded on to the truck at the Government ration depot in Nandpur with the intention to get wrongful profit, the spokesman said.
Efforts are on to arrest the Government ration dealer Prithvi Raj, son of Munshi Ram of Ranjitpura, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu, he said.
A case under FIR number 79/19 under section 406 and 409 IPC and 3/7 Essential Commodities Act has been registered at Ramgarh Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Ramgarh Inspector Chaman Gorkha made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Lov Karan Singh.
