Special status promoted secessionism in J&K: Khanna

JAMMU, Aug 13: National vice president BJP, election incharge and Prabhari of Jammu & Kashmir today said that abrogation of Article 370 has undone the injustice to which people of the J&K were subjected to over last seven decades.
Addressing a function organised here at BJP Headquarter, Trikuta Nagar today in connection with joining of some prominent people in the party, he said now there is right to vote for everyone in the State, and this is possible due to the party’s ideology of keeping the nation at the first place. He said that the dream of people and BJP regarding “Ek Vidhan, Ek Nishan, Ek Pradhan” has been fulfilled for betterment of our future generations.
Making a scathing attack on Congress and other political parties Khanna said that party was responsible for present mess and miseries of the people in this border State. He said the Articles 370 and 35-A were the greatest impediment in the progress and development of the State which also led to encouragement of secessionist elements .
Terming the abrogation of controversial Articles a daring decision of Narendra Modi led Union Government, he said both PM and Home Minister, Amit Shah deserve all appreciation and praise for removing the controversial Articles from the Constitution.
Khanna while warning the vested elements and opposition parties for misguiding the people on abrogation of Articles 370 and 35-A, said the people should not get misled by such propaganda. He assured that BJP will not do any thing that will harm the interests of the people of this State as the party has started its movement from this State with the supreme sacrifice of its founder leader, Dr Shayama Prasad Mookherjee.
Prominent leaders who joined the party on the occasion included SSP (retd) Bhoopinder Singh, Shailender Vaid, Vipan Nischal Arogaya Yoga Sansthan, Abhiudit Koushal (grandson of Rishi Kumar Kushal, former MLA Reasi), Gurmeet Singh & Lokesh Kapoor (Auto & 2 Wheeler Repair and Spare Association) along with their hundreds of supporters.
BJP State general secretaries, Dr. Narinder Singh, Yudhvir Sethi, Rajesh Gupta, district president, Baldev Singh Billawaria, Ajay Pargal, MLC, Ramesh Arora and other senior leaders of the State were also present on the occasion.
Ravinder Raina, while speaking on the occasion, said that except dynastic rule the Congress gave nothing to the nation in the post independence period. He said at national level it promoted Nehru Gandhi family rule and did not allow any space to able and efficient leaders like Sardar Patel, Dr B R Ambedkar,Gulzari Lal Nanda, Morarji Deasi, Acharya Kriplani and many others and in J&K the party connived with Abdullah family to continue dynastic rule in the State also. The special status given to the State was also a part of the Congress strategy to provide benefit to the few ruling dynasties in the State while ignoring the greater interests of the common masses, he added. Dr. Narender Singh conducted the programme proceedings.
