JAMMU, Nov 9: Putting an end to the controversy erupted in the NPP in the wake of Prof Bhim Singh meeting some leaders of Gupkar Alliance and the resultant crises over his expulsion, the senior party leadership today said that the issue has been sorted out amicably after verifying the factual position.
As per the report given by a fact finding committee constituted by the party headed by Balwant Singh Mankotia, president and comprising Gagan Pratap Singh, Capt Anil Gour both Secretaries and Surinder Chouhan District president Jammu (Rural), Prof Bhim Singh’s visit was purely personal and not connected in any way with Gupkar declaration. And accordingly, it was decided that Prof Bhim Singh shall continue to hold the position of chief patron of the Party. The announcement was made by Balwant Singh Mankotia in a press conference here today.
Mankotia said that Panthers Party had already opposed the Gupkar declaration and this stand of the party had been duly conveyed even by Prof Bhim Singh through the local media. He said that a purely personal meet was blown out of proportion by a section of media which had created confusion not only amongst the general public amongst the general public but the rank and file of the party as well. He said that Bhim Singh had also made statement in the media dispelling all doubts and making it amply clear that no compromise whatsoever could ever be made with the national interest or with the cause of Jammu region which the party considers most sacrosanct.
He said that in view of the findings of the committee and the contributions made by Prof Bhim Singh, it was unanimously decided that the status quo ante shall be restored.
Meanwhile, Vinod Kumar, son of former BJP MLA from Chenani Dina Nath Bhagat today joined NPP along with his supporters.
NPP chairman Harsh Dev Singh welcomed Vinod Kumar in the party fold and said that he would contribute for strengthening party in Chenani constituency. Harshdev said that with the baggage of mistrust carried by the present ruling clique having become murkier and cumbersome, the people were quitting BJP in large numbers day after day and increasingly reposing their faith in Panthers Party.
Vinod said that with BJP having lost its credibility in Jammu region, it was NPP alone which could fill the void and provide an alternative to the people of Jammu region. He said that he alongwith all his supporters would take the agenda and dogma of Panthers Party to each nook and corner of Jammu region.
