Bhim questions merits of Modi’s statements in Leh, Kargil

NEW DELHI, Aug 14: Chief patron of National Panthers Party, Member of National Integration Council Prof Bhim Singh has questioned Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India to let the nation know about the BJP manifesto and Prime Minister’s demand.
Prof Singh in a letter addressed to Narendra Modi today said that the entire nation shall be watching PMs reaction (comments) from the Lal Qila on the illegal occupation of nearly 36,000 miles of our territory by China in Ladakh region and 5,000 sq. miles in Karakoram sector, besides annexation ‘Gilgit-Baltistan’ by Pakistan (in 2009) declaring this territory of J&K (India) as Pakistan’s 5th province.
Prof.Bhim Singh also wanted to know the stand of the Prime Minister vis-à-vis Union Territory Status to Ladakh and Article 370.
NPP leader said Prime Minister’s speeches in Leh and Kargil during his visit to Ladakh region on August 12 have left a grave variation.
The stand PM took during his recent meeting with Pakistan premier, Nawaz Sharief, to strengthen confidence building measures between the two countries appears to have been diluted by own speech in Leh, when he called Pakistan a ‘weak state’ and charged them with suspicion for encouraging terrorists from Pakistan to infiltrate into J&K for sabotage. He failed to mention even a word on the illegal occupation of 20,000 sq. miles of Ladakh (India) territory by China. Modi dared not touch the illegal occupation of nearly 5,000 sq. miles of State (India) territory on Karakoram Highway (POK) which China continues to occupy since 1963. China has built 60 ‘army helipads’ and construction is continuing to build a defence road through Karakoram Highway which is no secret affair.
On the other hand, PM’s speech in Kargil was more akin to the manifesto of the Khomeini Trust than to the BJP’s. Surprisingly, he did not mention a word about occupation of ‘Baltistan-Gilgit’ by Pakistan. Askardu, capital of Baltistan is only 25 km away from Kargil and it is situated only two km away from the Line of Control. The illegal occupation by Pakistan over ‘Gilgit-Baltistan’ comprising 32,000 sq. miles of our territory (in violation of UN resolutions) should have found a mentioning by the Prime Minister of India while congratulating the great nationalist people of Kargil.
The people of Ladakh voted for BJP with a hope and trust that Narendra Modi shall get them the status of Union Territory when elected as Prime Minister of India. What happened to the promise to grant Union Territory status to Ladakh?
Tomorrow is the Independence Day that this largest democracy shall be celebrating by hoisting tri-colour flags. In J&K, the jurisdiction of tri-colour flag has not yet been extended. When the Indian Constitution shall enter J&K?
