Bhatia Club outplays Wazir CC by 2 wkts

JAMMU, Mar 6: Bhatia Cricket Club Bishnah defeated Wazir Cricket Club Nagrota by 2 wickets in the ongoing Salute & Tribute to Sunjuwan Martyrs Jammu District Rural Cricket Tournament, being organized by Jammu District Cricket Alliance, an affiliate unit of Parade Sports Association at Parade ground, here.
Earlier, winning the toss and batting first, Wazir Cricket Club Nagrota scored a decent total of 148 runs in the stipulated 25 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process. Jatinder Singh was the top scorer with unbeaten 39 runs, while Raghuvir Singh, SaHIL Rehan and Rajinder Sharma contributed 20, 19 and 13 runs to the total respectively. Kartik Sharma of Bhatia Cricket Club was the wrecker-in-chief who took 4 important wickets by conceding 25 runs in his 5 overs, while Ramnik Singh took 2 wickets. Gourav Manhas and Sachin Sharma claimed one wicket each.
In reply, Bhatia Cricket Club chased the target in 24 overs by losing 8 wickets, thus won the match by 2 wickets. Sachin Sharma and Shivam Sadhotra scored 32 and 26 runs respectively, while Ramnik Singh, Kartik Sharma and Roshan Lal contributed 23, 16 and 10 runs to the total respectively. For Wazir Cricket Club, Sahil Rehan took 3 wickets by giving away 17 runs, while Rajinder Sharma and Jagdish Lal took 2 wickets each.
The match was officiated by Harsh Nayyar and Kapil Dev Mahajan as umpires, while the Tournament is being held under the overall supervision of Vijay Sabarwal, President Parade Sports Association.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Singh Cricket Club Mishriwala will lock horns with Young Stars Cricket Club Nagrota.
