SRINAGAR, Aug 19: State Cabinet today ordered appointment of new Secretary of J&K Legislative Council and promotion of an IAS officer and Director State Motor Garages.
According to the order, Special Secretary Department of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Majid Bhat has been appointed as Secretary, J&K Legislative Council on deputation basis in his own pay and grade.
The Cabinet also approved promotion of IAS officer Hirdesh Kumar to the Super Time Scale with effect from 1st January, 2015. Consequent upon his promotion, Hirdesh Kumar has been designated as Commissioner Secretary to the Government Technical Education, Youth Service and Sports and IT Departments.
It also accorded sanction to the promotion of Director State Motor Garages, G A Sofi to a common pool of posts for HoDs with immediate effect.
Consequent upon his promotion, G A Sofi has been re-designated as Director General, State Motor Garages, J&K.
