JAMMU, Oct 14: With the aim to further promote Dogra Culture in the rural areas and in collaboration with Ministry of Culture Government of India New Delhi, Bhartiya Kala Sangam, Jammu today held well prepared programmed based on folk dances festival in Sujandhar area of Reasi.
On this occasion, Darvinder Singh Sarpanch was the chief guest and Parlad Singh presided over the function.
T.R. Sharma and Romesh Singh Chib Chairman and Director respectively of Bhartiya Kala Sangam were also present on the occasion.
While addressing the distinguished gathering Darvinder Singh. Sarpanch said that values of culture cannot be glossed over as it is very necessary to keep people of different faiths, religion and communities in one bond of togetherness.
Earlier, while welcoming the audience, T.R Sharma Chairman gave a brief account of various activities carried out by Bhartiya Kala Sangam which started its journey in the year 1980. He said that Bhartiya Kala Sangam has been providing platform of the Sangam to new budding artists of Reasi especially belonging to far flung areas and many more artists have been groomed to independently perform at various functions and entertain public. Besides Darvinder Singh and Party (Sujjandhar, Reasi), Romal Singh and Party (Bakh), Bharat Singh and Party (Geetru) Sujandhar Reasi, Godavari Devi and Party (Bakh), Neelam Devi and Party Sujandhar Reasi enthraled the audience.
The event was ably conducted by Rajni Anubhav, renowned anchor of Radio and TV and vote of thanks presented by Romesh Singh Chib, Director Bhartiya Kala Sangam.
