Bhandari for handing over of Kishtwar Highway to NHAI

KISHTWAR, Apr 22: Member of Kishtwar Civil Society and Congress leader Shamsher Singh Bhandari has demanded handing over of Batote -Kishtwar Highway to National Highway Authority of India for its construction and maintenance.
In a statement Mr Bhandari said that the condition of road is totally worst right from Batote to Kishtwar and it is not worth plying vehicular traffic at present. Passengers traveling via this road feel scared in the given condition of the road.
Bhandari said many accidents have taken place on this road so far and many people have lost their lives.
He demanded that the road be handed over to NHAI for its construction and maintenance so that movement of traffic to Doda, Kishtwar and Bhadarwah is not hampered.
Bhandari also demanded construction of tunnel to Kishtwar for making an alternative road linking twin districts of Doda and Kishtwar with rest of the country.
He also demanded that the other local roads in both the district be developed as people are facing many hardships due to bad conditions of roads in the area.
