JAMMU, Nov 23: Former minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla today undertook a door to door campaign in favour of Congress candidate Gurmeet Kour  at Babliana Panchayat in Gandhi Nagar Constituency and appealed people to support Congress party.

He appealed to the people to exercise their franchise in favour of Congress candidate, as Congress guarantees for peace and prosperity in J&K and the country. Hitting out at the BJP for creating huge disillusionment among all sections of society, former minister said that his party alone can safeguard sentiments and aspirations of people of J&K.
Bhalla described Congress party as “strong” and “vibrant” in J&K, capable enough to defeat anti-people forces in the country and that Congress Party has never compromised on its ideology, principles for the sake of power. He said the party shall remain committed to the cause of strengthening people and working for the peace, progress and overall development of the State. He said that the Congress “alone” stands guarantee to secular fabric, diversity and unity in the country.
PCC leader said the party will remain committed to fight and defeat the “fascist”, “communal” forces posing threat to secular fabric of the country. Bhalla said people have realized that it is the Congress party, which has never sacrificed its ideology for power, rather it always preferred to remain out of power.
He blamed BJP for its utter failure on all fronts and misleading Jammu people with false loud statements, as the main motive of BJP is to divert the attention of Jammu  people  from the real issues of public interests. He alleged that BJP whom Jammu people have voted into power should not shift its responsibility, but concentrate on fulfilment of their electoral promises.
