JAMMU, Oct 18: Continuing Government’s endeavor to further strengthen health infrastructure in the urban pockets of the State, Minister for Housing, Culture, Horticulture, Youth Services and Sports Raman Bhalla today laid foundation stone of Rs 5 crore Community Health Centre (CHC) building at Trikuta Nagar.
Director Health Services Dr. Baljeet Singh Pathania, Managing Director Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board (JKHB) Ram Paul Sharma besides other senior officers of PHE, PDD, R&B, Health and UEED accompanied the Minister.
Addressing a large gathering after laying foundation stone of CHC, the Minister informed the inhabitants of Trikuta Nagar that the CHC would be constructed in the area with the facilities like 10-bedded ward, Labour Room, Laboratory, Dental Ward, Emergency Ward, X-ray room, family welfare room, Dressing room, dispensary, Ramp, kitchen, toilet block and terrace, added Mr. Bhalla.
Mr. Bhalla said that Government has accorded focused attention to health sector and during the past five and half years, a substantial improvement in the overall scenario has been registered. With the initiation of timely and corrective measures by the Government, the Health Department has touched new heights, he maintained.
Appreciating the performance of the employees of the Health Department, Mr. Bhalla said that everyone has understood their role and put in their best efforts in providing best possible medicare facilities to the ailing persons.
The Government has already sanctioned posts of doctors and para-medics for this newly established CHC which will be completed within a period of one year by the Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board (JKHB).
Mr. Bhalla said that the hospital will have 24 hour service with all latest diagnostic and treatment facilities.
For providing transport services in shifting of ailing patient of Trikuta Nagar and its adjoining areas to the other city hospitals for treatment, the Minister asked Director Health to provide fully air-conditioned ambulance to CHC.
The Minister further informed that Rs. 72.45 crore 100-bedded Rajiv Gandhi Hospital at Gangyal is under progress under the National Rural Health Mission scheme of the Central Government. He asked the Jammu and Kashmir Housing Board to complete the hospital within stipulated time frame.
Later, Mr. Bhalla also visited Gangyal W. No. 56 and inaugurated Multipurpose Community hall, constructed by JKHB at an estimated cost of Rs. 54 lakh.
