Bhalla Foundation offers 567 scholarships to girls

JAMMU, Mar 21: Harbans Roshan Bhalla Educational Foundation gave 567 scholarships on its 26th Annual Day Function to girls students of rural areas and financially weak sections of the society, here today.
The chief guest of the Annual function was Mayor Rajinder Sharma who gave certificates of merit to students, wherein 80 percent students were girls from rural areas and financially weak sections.
The chief guest encouraged and emphasized the children and their parents to make the best use of the opportunity provided by the Foundation. He lauded the efforts of Harbans Roshan Bhalla Educational Foundation to promote education of girls, particularly those who live in the rural areas of Jammu region. The chief guest also interacted with children and wished them a bright future ahead.
Educational support to children is provided by Harbans Rohan Bhalla Educational Foundation team by providing online tuition classes, evaluation tests and counselling sessions for children and their parents. The Foundation also organizes free medical camps and provides treatment and medicines to children and their families during the event.
The children were came from various areas including Hiranagar, Chak Rattian, Doomi, Gajansoo, RS Pura, Birpur, Rehian, Jourian, Dansal, Kangrail, Gurah Slathia, Ghou Manhasan, Saruinsar, etc. to participate in the function along with their families.
A wide range of cultural activities like traditional dances, songs and poems were performed by children during the event.
The Managing Trustee, Kunil Bhalla dwelt on the activities of the Foundation and its future vision. The Managing Trustee also informed that every year 60 to 70 new students are added to the list for the scholarship and said that parents of bright and needy children should apply for this scholarship.
