JAMMU, Apr 23: Former minister and senior Congress leader, Raman Bhalla today claimed that BJP-PDP Coalition so far in its tenure has only added to the woes of common man, BJP in particular in Jammu region as this party is involved in every anti-Jammu decision.
Addressing public gathering at Digiana in Gandhi Nagar constituency today, Bhalla while making a particular mention of the 10,000 posts of SPOs that were sanctioned by the Govt of India for J&K, regretted that all the posts were assigned to various districts of Kashmir region with full consent of BJP ministers. He said that the BJP ministers in the Cabinet not only surrendered the posts to Kashmir at the cost of Jammu youth but made statements justifying that decision as having been taken in national interest. He said the BJP acts as dummy coalition partner in the Government as discrimination with Jammu province is being done at all ground either in recruitment, allotment of funds, development in tourist sector or overall development process.
The Congress leader alleged that the general public including traders, businessmen, farmers, unemployed, families of the martyrs, border residents besides daily wagers, casual workers, contractual lecturers, etc had been bearing the brunt of the discrimination in all spheres. He said that the farmers were not paid any compensation against their colossal loss pertaining to crops, livestock and precious lives which were washed away by the catastrophic rains of Sept 2014 and thereafter.
He expressed deep concern over the willful delay in the notification and establishment of AIIMS in Jammu and unnecessary delay in functioning of five sanctioned Medical Colleges in the State as well as the building of Kathua and Doda Medical colleges which have not been started after a lapse of three years of time.
The former minister accused the PDP-BJP Govt of undoing the work done by the previous UPA Government and said this had led to “emboldening of separatists and militants” in the Valley. “Separatists, militants and Pakistan didn’t have any role and were put into sidelines of Kashmir but after the last elections in the State, the BJP-PDP Coalition, abandoned all the works which were initiated by Cong in the State,” Bhalla maintained.
