JAMMU, May 10: On the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, birth anniversary of Lord Parshuram – the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu, was celebrated with religious fervor, here today, along with other parts of the country.
Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha organised a religious function in connection with Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti in the premises of the Sabha near Parade Ground Jammu. After Havan Yagya and Pooja Archana, religious scholars enlightened the gathering about the history and importance of Bhagwan Parshuram. The function was presided over by Ved Parkash Sharma, President DBPS.
A car and bike rally was also organized by the Sabha, which was flagged off by prominent Sant Narsingh Dass Ji Maharaj. The rally passed through Moti Bazar, Pacca Danga, Jain Bazar, Link Road, Purani Mandi, Residency Road, Vivekanand Chowk, Dogra Chowk to Raghunath Bazar and then back to Parade.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, former Minister Sat Sharma (CA), Ashok Koul (Organization Secretary BJP), Davinder Singh Rana (Ex-MLA) Ex- Minister Priya Sethi, senior BJP leader Chander Mohan Sharma, Vice-President BJP Yudhvir Sethi, NMC President Subash Shastri, Ex-Corporator Anita Sharma, Pt VM Magotra, N C Sharma, M L Sharma, Ritiz Khajuria, Somnath Khajuria, K L Sharma, Ex-DC B S Jamwal, Satyanand Sharma, Adv Ankur Sharma, Kanav Sharma, Raman Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Gopal Sharma, Jagdish Dogra, Shiv Ram Sharma, Jagan Nath Sharma, M L Padha, and representatives of various social religious organizations were also present on the occasion.
The singers recited devotional songs and Bhajans mesmerizing the gathering with a religious and spiritual atmosphere. Pt Rohit Shastri, Ajay Sharma and Satpal Raina, in their discourse, threw light on the responsibilities of Brahmin.
President of the Brahman Sabha, Ved Parkash Sharma and others called upon the community to follow the path shown by the great gurus and work for the uplift of every section of society. The function concluded with offering of Parshad in the shape of Bhandara.
On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Lord Parshuram, a grand event was organized by Shri Kaliakh Jyotish Aavim Vedic Sansthan Trust, Jammu and Kashmir. Special prayers, rituals, Havan, Bhajan-Kirtan, and discussions were organized in honor of Bhagwan Parshuram.
During the event, the program was chaired by Swami Hridayanand Giri Maharaj, with chief guest Sham Lal Sharma (former Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Government). Vikram Sharma (President Jammu and Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu) and R K Chhibber (former Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Bank and current member of the Board of Directors of Jammu and Kashmir Bank) were the special guests.
Sham Lal Sharma said that Lord Parshuram is known for his strength, valor, courage, bravery, and devotion. He emphasized the importance of drawing inspiration from his life and urged the youth to conserve the environment and keep the surroundings green.
Swami Hridayanand Giri Maharaj stated that Bhagwan Parshuram is the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu and one of the eight immortal characters mentioned in scriptures.
During the religious program organized under the leadership of Pradhan Ashok Shastri at Lord Parshuram Temple of Akhnoor, the program of Havan Yagya and prayers was started from the morning itself. There was a steady stream of devotees paying obeisance at the temple throughout the day. Bhandara Prasad was distributed among the devotees.
Dogra Grameen Brahmin Sabha organized a huge Brahman Sammelan at 20 Miles on Friday. The program started with Havan, Yagya and Purnahuti under the chairmanship of President Krishna Lal Sharma. During the program, a Yagnopavit ceremony was also performed for hundred students. A grand procession was also taken out by the youth that passed through Thati, Dumi, Sua No. 1, Agore, Jandial and concluded at Ranjan 20 Miles Resort.
During the grand Brahman Sammelan, Padmashree Vishwamurthy Shastri was present as the chief guest while Pandit Suresh Shastri, Vijay Parashar Shastri, Devraj Shastri were the guests of honors. Former Minister Sham Lal Sharma, former MLA Devendra Singh Rana, Advocate Abhinav Sharma, Vishwa Hindu Parishad general secretary Shakti Dutt Sharma, Somnath Khajuria, Vijay Sharma, Brahmin Sabha Akhnoor president Ashok Shastri attended the conference as special guests.
To commemorate Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti, Sub Office of J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Kathua, in collaboration with Grameen Brahmin Sabha, organised ‘Bhajan Sandhya’ at Bhagwan Parshuram Temple, Gho Brahamana, Vijaypur.
The programme started with the vibrant singing of Ajit Pal and Party followed by the presentations of Raj Kumar and Party, Kuldeep Kumar and Party & Paramjeet and Party. The programme concluded with a soulful presentation by Manjala Devi and Party who mesmerised audiences with their singing skills. The programme was ably conducted by Sat Pal Singh.
On the occasion of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti, Akshya Tritiya Bhandara was at Bhairav Nath Temple. Havan was performed after Navgrah Puja and 11 Jangams were worshipped. Pandit Rupil Shastri threw light on importance of the day.
