UDHAMPUR, Mar 22: MLA Chenani Ghordi, Dina Nath Bhagat, today distributed cheques amounting to Rs 6.30 lakh among 35 selected beneficiaries of Group Approach Project for remote Chenani tehsil of the District Udhampur Comprehensive Handloom Development Scheme.
Out of total 6.30 lakh the department released today 50% amount which was distributed for purchase of equipments (Looms) and construction of work sheds. On this occasion, AD, Handloom Development, Gulshan Kumar, was also present.
While speaking on the occasion, Bhagat said that the present Government is committed to strengthen the road connectivity and has formulated a comprehensive plan to create sound road network in State. He said that construction of various road projects have been taken up under various State and Centrally Sponsored Schemes.
Maintaining that the present dispensation has an agenda for harmonious development of all the sections of society, Bhagat asked people to come forward and avail benefits of schemes launched for their welfare.
Besides prominent citizens and officers of handloom Department, Mandal Pardhan, Chenani, Deepak Chander Gupta, BDO Chenani, SHO Chenani, Teshildhar Chenani and ZEO were also present.
