JAMMU, Dec 2: While Bhaderwah-Bani- Basohli road was restored today by the GREF authorities, the Mughal Road connecting Rajouri-Poocnh with Shopian in Kashmir Valley was still closed.
During the recent heavy snowfall in the area including Chattergala Pass and Guldanda meadows, on Seoj Dhar, the connectivity between Bani-Bhaderwah was snapped two days ago.
The team of GREF led by Gaurav Tewari, Officer Commanding 118 RCC, alongwith 2IC T.K Bag and operators and CPLs opened the road axis within the stipulated time under able guidance of Commander S.K Verma, Hqrs 35 BRTF, Udhampur.
Despite all hurdles and the adverse weather conditions, the FREF team is taking adequate measures for maintaining the connectivity between Bani and Bhaderwah for the convenience of general public, the OC said.
Meanwhile, historical Mughal Road remains closed for the third consecutive day. Executive Engineer Mughal Road Division, Mohd Shoket said we had once cleared the road yesterday, but later there was again snowfall at the upper reaches near Pir ki Gali and adjoining areas and avalanches also hits the road that is why it is taking time to clear the road again.
“We are trying our best to clear the road till tomorrow evening for the movement of traffic. The Traffic authorities have also asked the commuters not to travel on Mughal road before it gets cleared,” he added.
