BGSBU Teachers Association to go on indefinite strike from Aug 27

RAJOURI, Aug 20: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Teachers Association (BGSBUTA) today observed one-day pen down strike and announced to go on indefinite strike from August 27 if all the issues are not resolved by the University authorities.
Issuing a press statement, president BGSBUTA, Dr Asghar Ali Shah said that General Body Meeting (GBM) of the association has unanimously decided to proceed on indefinite strike from August 27, 2013 if their all pending issues are not resolved well before August 26.
He reiterated the demands, which included implementation of rotation policy for the positions like Registrar, Controller of Examinations, Deans of Schools of Studies, Dean Student Welfare, Heads of different departments, Proctor, Provosts and wardens of the hostels, adoption of one man one position policy, removal of retired people from the administrative positions, filling up of all vacancies in the teaching departments and Career Advancement Scheme for teachers as per the norms of the UGC.
Dr Shah said that there were also other demands, which have already been forwarded to authorities for the redressal. Even as the University  had agreed to fulfill all the demands before the end of academic session, 2012-2013  but no action seems to have been taken thus forcing the teachers to go on strike, he added.
