BGSBU organizes webinar on ‘Career and Life Skills’

RAJOURI, Aug 9: School of Management Studies, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University Rajouri, organized a webinar on ‘Career and life skills to take you beyond COVID-19’.
In his address, Prof Javed Musarrat- Vice Chancellor BGSBU, mentioned that the Coronavirus outbreak has caused worry and uncertainty throughout the globe, but there’s no point driving people stir crazy while staying at home. “By choosing to teach yourself new skills, you will not only make good use of time, but you could also significantly benefit your life and career as well,” he mentioned.
Prof Neerja Pande, Professor of Communication, IIM Lucknow, delivered the keynote address and said: ” Career skills would encompass those competencies which will help you build a dream career with your passion, have a life of distinguished achievements bringing you center stage and where economics of the situation has also not been disturbed in spite of the virus whereas Life skills would encompass a way of life or habits which will give you satisfaction in your solitude, add meaning to your life not by your own achievements but by the compassionate contributions you make in someone else’s life by helping them live their dreams in spite of the virus.”
She said that in the hyper mediated world during and post Covid-19, one must always engage his mind before engaging his mouth or mouse. She highlighted five propositions – I think therefore I am, I know who I am, I link therefore I am, I want to have or I want to be and I am therefore I Think.
Prof Iqbal Parwez, Dean Academic Affairs, delivered the welcome address and said that the University was effectively reaching out to all its stakeholders particularly the students and scholars by adopting online modes of teaching and learning to ensure that their academic pursuits are met within the stipulated time frame.
