RAJOURI, Mar 5: Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University has initiated the process of reviving key infrastructure projects that had been stalled, marking a major step toward enhancing academic and residential facilities on campus.
The projects set to restart includes the Central Library, Guest House, new Academic Departments, and Scholars’ Hostel-each playing a crucial role in the university’s growth and commitment to academic excellence.
The Central Library is expected to become a key resource center for students and researchers, offering access to an extensive collection of academic materials. The development of new academic departments will ensure better teaching and learning spaces, strengthening the University’s academic framework.
The Scholars’ Hostel will provide essential residential facilities for research scholars, addressing a long-standing need for suitable accommodation. Additionally, the Guest House is being developed to host visiting academicians and dignitaries, fostering greater academic collaborations and institutional partnerships.
Alongside these initiatives, the University has also started the tendering process for the repair and renovation of hostels. This step aims to improve residential conditions for students, ensuring they have a comfortable and well-maintained living environment that supports their academic pursuits.
To oversee the progress of these developments, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Jawaid Iqbal visited various project sites within the University. He was accompanied by Registrar BGSBU Abhishek Sharma (DC Rajouri), Chief Engineer R&B Rajouri Anil Kumar Pandohi, XEn Rajouri Sardar Khan, and Incharge Works University Dr Ahmed Rayaz.
The visit focused on assessing the status of both ongoing and stalled projects, with the administration determined to complete the work at the earliest.
