“Beti Bachao” staged

REASI, Aug 16:  ‘Beti Bachao’ hindi play was staged by the artist of the Triple “A” Performing Arts Reasi, on the eve of Independence Day which was staged in collaboration with Abhinaya Kala Manch, Reasi, written by Shashi Bushan and directed by Anam Khan.
The story of the play again dealt with the theme of female infanticide. The play, a collage of many illustrations from mythology, ends with an interesting turn of events. Due to mindless female infanticide, a stage comes in the society when due to very less number of girls in the society the tables turn on the boys of marriageable age. Now they are being evaluated by girls, their mothers for their skills in cooking, washing and other house-hold chores.
The actors who enacted in the play were  Alka Kumari, Rakesh Kumar, Archana Sharma, Aamir Khan and Puesh Kumar. Music was arranged  by Sachdev Singh, costume by Rifat Yasmeen, Makeup by  Deepak Kesar and Raja Aamir Khan.
Sarpanch  Haji Ghulam Hussain was the chief guest while advocate and social activist Sarver Mir was the guest of honour, Abdul Rehman  warden G&B  hostel was also present on the occasion.
Panch,  Sarpanch, local public, students and teachers witnessed the play. Others present on the occasion were Som Raj, Rajesh Kumar, Shadab Khan, Sahil Abrol, Surjeet Singh, Mohd Rafiq, Sanjeev Kumar etc. The people of the area highly appreciated the play.
