JAMMU, June 7:  Pradesh Congress Committee president,  Ghulam Ahmed Mir  today alleged that  not only PDP leader Mehbooba Mufti, there are so many ‘Chief Ministers’ running the Government  in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference along with AICC coordinator, Pawan Khera here today,  Mir said that Mehbooba Mufti has proved as total failure as Chief Minister of the State. There is no governance at all in the State. The people are crying for the basic amenities.
“ Unfortunately, in J&K there is not only Mehbooba Mufti but so many Chief Ministers.  Nagpur headquarters , PMO office, Home Ministry,  BJP National president,  Mama Ji,  Mausa Ji of  Mehbooba Mufti etc.  are all acting as ‘Chief Ministers’  of J&K State,” PCC president remarked.
Mir alleged that a mess has been created by  some people in the State and their acts and mischiefs have forced the youth in Valley to resort to violent activities. He said Congress always stressed for dialogue with all the stake holders   including Hurriyat Conference leaders and former PM Atal Behari Vajpayee had also chosen this path but present BJP taking U-turn on old BJP stand,  has turned down the proposal of talks with Hurriyat leaders, thus closing doors for any peace  initiative on Kashmir .
Khera, while referring to the present crisis/ unrest  in Kashmir valley, said that it was the result of political failure of this Government. He said  there is no governance visible on the ground in this State and the things are going from bad to worse.  The people at the helm of affairs are confused.
Narendra Modi’s tall claims within three years have exposed him. The people have also realized that Modi had been running his Govt only on the plank of  hollow slogans. There is nothing on the ground. It was Modi who offered to provide two crore jobs to the youth of the country within one year, but he stood exposed after it was found that  he could provide jobs to just 2.5 lakhs in a year while many lost their jobs due to anti-employee policy of Modi Govt.
In Education sector  a massive cut has been imposed on the budget thus affecting the studies of PG, Ph D and M Phil students. This Govt could not come out with a definite Education Police even after three years.  Instead of providing support to the students, this Govt gave a hike of about 100 % in the fee of professional institutions. The CAG has indicated about possible scam of worth Rs 1,32,649 crore in the Education sector during last three years which will come to light shortly. There are 5 lakh vacancies of teachers which were not filed up by the present Govt. Over Rs 4286 crore cut has been effected in Higher Education sector by Modi Govt during last three years,  Khera added.
The AICC leader further said that Mid Day Meal Scheme is going to be ceased shortly as Govt has asked to provide food/ nutrition  only to those children who will come to Angandwadi Centres with Aadhar Card.  This is another way devised by this Govt to deny the food and nutrition to the poor children of this country. Under MGNERGA, liabilities worth Rs 9180 crore have remained unpaid to the labour class for the last 3-4 years. This Scheme which was earlier declared as  ‘big  scandal’  by Modi, was later lauded by the BJP Govt which is quite surprising.
The slogans ‘Start Up India, …Clean India’ etc have proved totally hollow. Even very less  budget earmarked for such schemes has  been utilized by the Govt. Rs 10,000 crore was sanctioned for Start Up India project  but later 42 % cut was imposed on it.  Through ‘Beti Padhao, Beti Bachao’ Scheme  just Rs 1.25 is being spent on one girl child which is big fraud of this Govt, Khera alleged.
Senior PCC leaders Sham Lal Sharma Raman Bhalla,  Ravinder Sharma, Namrata Sharma and Manmohan Singh, also accompanied.
