JAMMU: Then Army today underlined the requirement to be vigilant and responsive to the prevailing situation across the State and batted for peace and peaceful environment in the region.
Emphasising on the need to be vigilant, alive and responsive to the developing situation, General Officer Commanding White Knight Corps, Lt Gen R R Nimbhorkar asked all the security agencies to maintain peace and ensure a peaceful and conducive environment.
Chairing a Core Group Security meeting here at Nagrota to take stock of the prevailing security situation in South of Pir Panjal in eight districts of Jammu region, Lt Gen Nimbhorkar stated that the Army and its various formations deployed south of Pir Panjal have been proactively involved in synergy with civil administration to maintain peace and social harmony in the region.
He said the Army was always ready to face all challenges whether on the Line of Control or in hinterland and were prepared in all respects to assist the civil Administration. The GOC appreciated the high levels of synergy in operations exhibited by all agencies in recent times and encouraged all present to overcome contemporary challenges and work towards enhancing confidence amongst the people.
The meeting was attended by top brass of administration, police, army, para-military and intelligence agencies. Meanwhile, a joint strategy was chalked out in great detail by all agencies to ensure peace and stability in the region and ensure incident-free environment. (AGENCIES)
