JAMMU, Mar 29: Block Development Council (BDC) Chairperson from Gurez, Famida Bano along with number of Panches, Sarpanches and other supporters joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in presence of party general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, today.
Former MLC, Surinder Ambardar, Aijaz Khan DDC member from Tulail (Gurez) and others were among the prominent present on the occasion.
Ashok Kaul, while addressing on the function said that Famida Bano’s joining will boost the morale of the workers in that particular segment. He said that Gurez is a very sensitive and strategic constituency in Bandipora district of Kashmir. There is a huge neglect and deprivation because of the discrimination of the traditional political parties who were governing the State for last 7 decades, he added.
Surinder Ambardar, on the occasion, said that Gurez will be developed as a Model Constituency in future, with the sincere efforts of BJP leaders. He said that the people of Gurez have shown their patriotism by negating separatism and terrorism from last three decades. They are wedded to nationalism and are echoing the vision of PM Narendra Modi, he added.
Famida, on the occasion, said that with a firm view that she will be able to serve the land in an empowered way, she has decided to join the BJP. She also expressed her gratitude to the BJP leadership and said that she will never let down the party and will work to empower this most important pillar of democracy.
She also expressed the hope that BJP which is well versed with the problems of the area will take all steps in the development of this border belt and assured that this will ensure the victory of party in the next Assembly elections from that segment too.
