BCC chairman to get extended term

JAMMU, Mar 5: The Backward Classes Commission (BCC) chairman Jeet Lal Gupta and Members—Ghulam Nabi Bodha and Ghulam Hyder Badhana will now have a term of five years in the office as against previous three years.
Governor NN Vohra has given consent to a legislation to this effect, which was passed by both Houses of the Legislature during budget session.
The Chairman and the two Members have completed about one year in the office and will now have four more years’ term.
Sources said the extended term of the BCC chairperson and members would give them enough time for initiating the desired reforms.
