JAMMU, Dec 26: Bari Brahmana Industries Association (BBIA) strongly took up the issues of the industrialists with the Commissioner, Customs & Central Excise here today.
A delegation of the BBIA led by its president, Lalit Mahajan along with Suresh Mahajan- senior vice president, Varun Singla, vice – president, Ajay Langer- general secretary, Vivek Singhal- Secretary and Viraaj Malhotra- treasurer interacted with Gyan Sarvar Commissioner, CL Dogra Additional Commissioner (P&V) and Iftikhar Ahmed Chowdhary, Assistant Commissioner of Custom & Central Excise, Jammu and discussed various issues related to industrial sector of the State.
Mahajan raised serious concern in respect of non- release of credit lying in PLA as on July 8, 2017, show cause notices issued by the department in respect of denial of CENVET credit availed by the Unit for the period Feb 6, 2010 to January 19, 2014 and rejection of refund claims due to delay in the filing of returns prior to June 30, 2017 resulting in hardships being faced by the Industrial sector of J&K due to blockage of crores of rupees lying in PLA account of the unit holders due to which they are facing acute shortage of funds and the show cause issues notices issued by the department.
The BBIA chief further, requested the Commissioner for the timely release of the GST refund as per the notification of Govt of India for the smooth functioning of the industrial units.
Sarvar listened all the issues raised by BBIA patiently and informed the delegation that the refund of amount lying in PLA shall be released within fortnight and matter related for the denial of CENVET credit availed by the Unit for the period February 6, 2010 to January 19, 2014 and rejection of refund claims due to delay in the filing of returns prior to July 30, 2017 has already been taken up with the higher authorities for necessary clarification to resolve the issues on the priority.
