JAMMU, Feb 8: Lalit Mahajan, president Bari Brahmana Industries Association has drawn the attention of Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Rajesh Prasad, Principal Secretary, Power Development Department towards BBIA’s earlier requests for the Extension of Power Amnesty Scheme for Industrial Sector of Jammu & Kashmir.
Mahajan, who is also co-chairman of Federation of Industries Jammu pointed out that number of cases of Industrial units pending with the Power Development Department due to dispute arised out in respect of Power arrears of the closed /sick industrial units and the power supply have been disconnected since long, and with the extension of Power Amnesty Scheme, the closed/ sick units will deposit the Power dues enabling the Department to collect crores of rupees by settling the accounts on the basis of Power Amnesty Scheme.
BBIA requested the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Rajesh Prasad, Principal Secretary, Power Development Department to consider their request for the extension of Power Amnesty Scheme as notified by Govt Order No- 140-JKPDD-2020 dated 28-08-2020 which was earlier extended up to 30-11-2020 with the further extension of the same up to 30-06-2024 which will also help for the recovery of long pending arrears of the Power Development Department and also provide great relief to closed /sick units.
