Batwals pay tributes to Walpuria

JAMMU, Jan 23: Members of Batwal community paid tributes to legendary Punjabi singer Chandi Ram Walpuria on his 22nd death anniversary, in a programme organized today here at village Dei Chak.
The programme began at 10.30 AM and continued till 12.30 PM. Considerable number of locals and prominent persons of Batwal community attended the programme and paid floral tributes to the late singer.
General secretary of The Batwals India, RL Kaith, while speaking on the occasion threw light on the life of the late Punjabi singer, who was from Ludhiana and belonged to ‘Kaith Clan” of Batwal community.
He said, “Chandi Ram started singing from a childhood age. Inderjeet Hassanpuri and Sajan Rai Koti wrote many hit songs for him that made him increasingly famous not only in the Punjab but outside the Punjab also”.
