Baru pitches for new Pouni Municipal Committee

REASI, Aug 23: JKUT convenor of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Urban Local Body Cell, Sanjay Kumar Baru during two days tour of district Reasi chaired a number of meetings and met various delegations including BJP councilors at Municipal Committee Reasi and BJP headquarter Reasi. The meeting was attended by BJP district president, Sheel Magotra , Chairman Municipal Council, Reasi Sudesh Puri, vice chairman, Yograj Raina besides other councilors .
Addressing the meeting, Sanjay Baru briefed all the councilors that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi at the Center which recently completed six years has launched various public welfare schemes and brought governance at doorstep. He added there is a dire need for all ground level workers to put their more contributions to uplift the downtrodden and backward section of society through these schemes.
During the meeting he said that through the Urban Local Body Cell, the Party High Command is making all out efforts to carry forward the agenda of development in coordination with all the corporators and councilors so that in the coming days the party should be strengthened more. He stressed for the coordinated efforts and resolved that no indiscipline will be tolerated at any level.
Sanjay Baru assured that serious efforts are being made to implement 74th Amendment on behalf of the Government and soon 74 Amendment will be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir UT.
Speaking in the meeting, district president, Sheel Magotra has submitted memorandum to include tehsil Pouni in Municipal Committee and promotion of tourism in view of various religious destinations in this district.
Chairman Municipal Committee, Sudesh Puri, apprised Baru of the problems being faced by the people in House Committee. He said that in the last one and a half years, only Rs. one crore has been made available for development through 14th Finance Commission which is not sufficient to meet out very large area and population.
Dolly Suri, Dheeraj Gupta, Omprakash Bhagat, Ashwini Khajuria, Surinder Sharma and others were also present on the occasion.
