Baru highlights encroachment on Government land

JAMMU, Feb 10: Vice Chairman of Jammu Development Authority (JDA), Pankaj Magotra along with JDA officials on the request of JMC Councilor and BJP senior leader, Sanjay Kumar Baru visited Wazir Lane and Durga Nagar area of Talab Tillo where encroachment on JDA land was done by some miscreants.
VC JDA has directed the authorities to lodge FIR against all those who have encroached upon JDA land. He has also asked the people to vacant the encroached land at the earliest and has warned for an anti encroachment drive to retrieve the same if they didn’t vacate the land at their own.
Speaking to the media, Sanjay Kumar Baru said that in past he has also highlighted the issue in front of the concerned authorities and he has too requested the encroachers to vacate the land but when they didn’t agreed to do it, there was no option left other than to call upon VC JDA for inspection. He said that such kind of encroachment would not be tolerated at any cost and strict action should be taken to restore the law of land.
Baru said that Lt Governor has sanctioned lot of money for the construction of community halls and parks in the Jammu Municipal area but in the city there is no land available and where ever the Government land exists it has been encroached by the land mafia. He urged the Government to retrieve this land from the clutches of the mafia immediately.
Vice Chairman JDA extended gratitude towards the Corporator, Sanjay Baru for his concerns to safeguard the Government properties.
On the occasion social activist, Ashok Wazir, Wazir Lane Youth Welfare Committee president, Jatinder Khajuria, Mohinder Gupta, Gresh Sharma, Sanjay Sharma, Ashish Gupta and permanent citizens were present.
