SAMBA, July 12: Bari Brahmana police has arrested a fraudster today.
Police said yesterday a complaint was received at Bari Brahmana Police Station that one person namely BikashGhorai, son of Nikunja Ghorai of Medinipur, West Bengal presently Barjani, Bari Brahmana, borrowed money from him on security of gold Jewellery and promised to return within week.
After taking money he was no longer seen at his rented room. Later it was found that the gold given by him was artificial. On the basis of complaint a case FIR No. 164/2021 U/S 420 IPC stands registered in PS, Bari Brahmana, police said.
During the investigation of the case police team including Investigating Officer (IO) PSI, Ravi Kotwal headed by SHO, PS Bari Brahmana, Rajesh Sharma under the close supervision of SDPO, Bari Brahmana Nihar Ranjan, after strenuous efforts finally nabbed the accused from Naibasti area during late night. During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement in the fraud case. Further investigation is going on and involvement of accused in other cases cannot be ruled out. The accused was arrested on the directives of SSP Samba, Rajesh Sharma.
