SRINAGAR, Nov 7: The district administration Baramulla today sought details from St. Joseph School for allegedly charging huge amounts of money from new students.
In this regard, the district administration issued an order wherein it directed the school to furnish the details by or before 4 pm.
“Explain on what account such huge sums are being charged from the parents,” the order stated. It added: “pending your explanation and decision taken thereof by the district administration, no such charges are levied on the above-mentioned parents,” it said.
The order was announced after several parents alleged that the private school was charging a huge amount of money from the parents on different pretexts. “It has been brought into the notice of the district administration that on one or another pretext, a huge amount is being charged from newly admitted students (nursery classes etc.) as against the orders,” the order stated.
