JAMMU, June 26: A deputation of All J&K Rural Banquet Halls Association led by its president, S. Gurbacchan Singh today met Divisional Commissioner and submitted him a memorandum of demands.
The deputation demanded that the banquet halls should be allowed to open by maintaining social distancing and other guidelines of the health authorities.
Deputation members said that they have been paying salaries to their employees engaged for the maintenance of banquet halls and the owners of these halls also have to clear bank loans.
The banquet hall owners claimed losses in the ongoing lockdown and demanded a financial package.
After listening the demands, the Divisional Commissioner assured to look into the matter.
Prof Garu Ram, ex-MLA; Ahsan Ullah Chechi, Association Chairman; Natha Ram, Vice President and others were also present in the deputation.
